Name Tags: You are… Sinners & Saints

If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude ourselves and the truth is not in us. [His Word does not live in our hearts.]

1 John 1:8 (Amplified Bible)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God…

Romans 3:23 (ESV)

Surely there is no righteous man on earth who does good and never sins.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 (ESV)

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Jeremiah 17:9 (ESV)

What if Christians wearing the name tag, “SAINT”, changed it for one that said, “SINNER & SAINT”?

Imagine all the surprised reactions from uppity churches and from the world! Because snooty saints pretend perfection and observant outsiders call their bluff.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

You must model cultural relevance, while other Christians model elitism. Because “holier than thou” attitudes make your values seem unrelatable, unwelcoming, and harshly judgmental.

As a Man, Jesus was none of these things, even though He WAS completely sinless.

So if Earth's only-ever sinless Man refused to distance Himself from sinners, but opened His arms, heart, and help to them… shouldn’t His ambassadors do the same?

Sharing your pain and inadequacies, including the failures you’ve overcome, helps you evangelize in 3 key ways:

  1. You’re seen as “human” and approachable. You're more able to build relationships that advertise the BEST relationship: a match with the ultimate Friend, Jesus!

  2. Opening up your bloopers and blunders… is like sharing a funny video: one that’s irresistibly appealing. It builds a bridge between you and “the world.”

  3. As friendships grow, you're invited to share exactly how you've overcome so much: the troubling temptations and tragedies you've gone through… and “somehow” come out shining!

Sharing “how”, “why” and especially WHO helped you through the worst of circumstances…is your ambassadorial duty and your most fruitful communication!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
