Name Tags: You are… Enlightened

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)

Some days, I don't feel very enlightened.

  • My mind is cloudy, like I’m in a fog.

  • My eyes see things, but not with clarity.

  • My mouth likes to talk, but the words aren’t right.

  • My body can move, but the path seems dark.

So how can I be the light of the world? Alone I can't, but through Jesus, I am.

Because at best, we're simply reflectors. And when the Best is Christ, we truly shine, which (without a doubt) is the Lord's grand plan!

We aren't called to judge or hate outsiders. We aren't called to condemn lifestyles we don’t like. We aren't called to be interrogators. We ARE called to be His ambassadors!

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

You’re commissioned to draw people to Christ with a soft light that's easy on the eyes…

  • Light that's gentle with awakening minds,

  • Light that's gracious with encouraging words,

  • Light that's confident with the steps you take…

  • Because you're walking RIGHT behind Jesus.

  • And He keeps His pace at the speed you need.

Your top job is to pay close attention– and not lose sight of the Star Who guides you. But when you forget or stray (which you will)...

  • Then go back to His Word, the Source of Light.

  • Praise the Lord in music, the sound of Light.

  • Go deep into prayer, the path of Light.

  • Ask God to forgive you, the dawn of Light.

  • Get close with godly friends, a band of Light.

Because true enlightenment comes from God. It’s a progression, onward and upward. 

P.S. Moments of darkness are normal for saints (and part of the human experience:) Don’t believe the worst. Pray and it will pass!
