Name Tags: You are… Glorious

The glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.*

John 17:22-23 (NKJV)

In the Bible, GLORY is a keyword, and it has numerous definitions:**

  • Treasure, honor, brightness, and God Himself.

  • Abundance, dignity, and majesty.

  • The brilliant illumination of faith working through the Holy Spirit of God.

GLORIOUS, in the best sense of the word, is a wonderful name tag for Christians, because it means we’re reflecting Jesus:)

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

The unprecedented ascendency of arts, entertainment, and media, and their inarguable influence over the minds and hearts of our children… gave Satan primetime on the screens we love.

(NOTE: When Christians snubbed the field, the harm grew worse.)

The result?

Manmade celebrities became idols. Although most are smart, they’re also clueless… about what they should DO with their glory.

Some shy away, but the glory’s still there. Others delight in their adoration. But here's the no-win thing about glory:

Glory can blind and become addictive to anyone who starts “craving” the high (except for glory’s rightful Owner, God!) Therefore…

Learn and practice these action steps, regarding glory (also known as fame):

  1. Get professionally trained and practiced by the industry’s prevailing standards. (All missionaries prepare for their fields.)

  2. Get spiritually polished by God, through regular immersion in the Word. (Through Jesus, you’ll grow increasingly bright:)

  3. Be content to REFLECT your King’s glory, since He’s glory’s Source and Rightful Owner. (It’s an honor to stand in for the King!

Entertainment gives you a high platform to model Christ and shine like a lighthouse… for every lost and drifting fan to see.

So when you wear the nametag, GLORIOUS, be sure to draw an arrow pointing up, so the fans watching you will look, up, too!

* Barnes' Notes on the Bible Verse John 17:22: 'And the glory ...--The honor which thou hast conferred on me by admitting me to union with thee, the same honor I have conferred on them by admitting them to like union with me… Always, in the creation, preservation, and redemption of the world, the Father and the Son have sought the same object, and this is to be the model on which Christians should act.'

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
