Name Tags: You are… God’s Prized Possession

He chose to give birth to us by giving us His True Word. And we, out of all creation, became His prized possession.

James 1:18 (NLT)

‘They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in the day when I make up My treasured possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.

Malachi 3:4 (ESV)

You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His Own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light

1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV)

Throughout the entirety of His Word, God illustrates His unique love for us.

  • He created us in His Own Image.

  • He produced planets for us to explore.

  • He sent His Son to live and die for us.

  • He dotes on us and calls us His treasure.

  • He provides for our needs and defends us.

  • He teaches, corrects, and helps us grow up.

  • His ceaseless love is unconditional.

Now consider an interesting thought… as to WHY Satan (Lucifer) loathes us. The Lord placed people above His angels. 'Do you not know that we will judge angels?' (1 Corinthians 6:3)…

  • Even though they existed before us.

  • Even though they’re mighty and beautiful.

We know Satan was cast down for his pride, and 1/3 of God’s angels followed him. But why did they rebel? Were they proud, too?

Or did a leading angel convince them they were getting inferior treatment? Why is this important? Maybe it's not, but knowing our enemy's mind is wise.

More importantly, we can better grasp… the history, extent, depth, scope, and cost of the Lord's everlasting love for us– and why He calls us His prized possession.

Do we deserve such a lofty name tag? Far less than our kids deserve all we give. Still, the stalwart love of earthly parents is a faint copy of God's love for us.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
