Trailblazers: Mark One
Comfort, comfort my people,
Says your God.
Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
And proclaim to her
That her hard service has been completed,
That her sin has been paid for,
That she has received from the Lord’s hand
Double for all her sins.
A voice of one calling:
“In the wilderness prepare
The way for the Lord;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God.
Every valley shall be raised up,
Every mountain and hill made low;
The rough ground shall become level,
The rugged places a plain.
And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
And all people will see it together.
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

As we start this new series, mark one man: John the Baptist! He preceded the first coming of Christ.
As the New Testament's star trailblazer, John was an extraordinary prophet… in a desperately depressing time: a time when Rome ruled over Israel, and rulish religion reigned over faith. Both types of rules exploited God's people. Many were harmed, lost, and misdirected.
Now mark one movement: Actors, models, and talent for Christ! Because YOU precede His second coming!
As arts and entertainment trailblazers, you’re God’s extraordinary performers… in a desperately depressing time: a time when media rules over fans, and rulish religion reigns over faith. Both types of rules exploit EVERYONE. Millions are harmed, lost, and misdirected.
Pause to consider the meaning of trail: “a path or track made across a wild region or over rough country” (Random House Dictionary). No matter how we try to excuse it, America exports idolatry. We’ve become a wild and rough land of dreams.
Next, consider the meaning of blazing: “to shine like flame, to be brilliantly conspicuous.” Your duty resembles John the Baptist’s: to blaze NEW trails as Christ’s opening act: brilliantly conspicuous messengers of His return amidst Earth’s finale.
Because the King of kings IS coming back in a blaze of light– the Day of the Lord: a delight for honest-to-God Christians, a dread for dishonest-to-God faith frauds.
Certainly, God wants 'All people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the Truth' (1 Timothy 2:4).
But with SIN-sational celebrities and “Christians” who don’t act like their Namesake, we're in the midst of massive confusion. You’ve been called to set the record straight on:
Who Jesus is and who He is NOT (as in a rulish, religious hater).
Where happiness is found and where it’s NOT (as in stuff, fame, fluff, and self-indulgence)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
With undeniable courage and light… you blaze trails in unprecedented fields: trails of love, joy peace, patience, and kindness!
