Trailblazers: Beware Bad Trails
The way of peace they do not know, and there is no justice in their paths; they have made their roads crooked; no one who treads on them knows peace.
Isaiah 59:8 (ESV)
Eons ago, Satan was Lucifer, a brilliant leader. if by way of pride,
He fell from 'Heaven like lightning' (Luke 10:18),
And he 'Disguises himself as an angel of light' (2 Corinthians 11:14),
Then the devil is a trailblazer, too. But his paths are disguised and confusing.
They’re sly rabbit trails: 'Crooked paths' (Isaiah 59:8), where men wander aimlessly.
They’re sinking mud holes: 'Deep mire, where there is no standing' (Psalm 69:2). Just death.
They’re topped with black ice: 'Slippery ways' (Jeremiah 23:12), leading men to wrecked lives.
They’re boasting bridges, where 'Haughty eyes' (Proverbs 21:4) look down and belittle.
They’re wide boulevards: 'Broad is the way that leads to destruction' (Matthew 7:13).
They’re known by pitfalls: well-disguised 'Stumbling blocks and temptations' (Matthew 18:7).
They’re unlit alleys: 'The fool walks in darkness' (Ecclesiastes 2:14), 'He stumbles...' (John 11:10).
NOTE: Some men avoid traveling altogether. They hide in the pews of complacency. 'All alike began to make excuses' (Luke 14:18).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
No more retreating to “spectator” lives. No more dead-end streets. No more rabbit trails!
