Losers: Gotta-See-It-To-Believe-It Doubters

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Matthew 23-24 (NKJV)

One of the twelve disciples, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), was not with the others when Jesus came. They told him, “We have seen the Lord!”

But he replied, “I won’t believe it, unless I see the nail wounds in His hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in His side.”

Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” He said. Then He said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at My hands. Put your hand into the wound in My side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed.

John 20:24-28 (NLT)

In some people, faith flows naturally. They’re positive and look for the bright side. They don’t need to understand everything.

Clearly, little children see life that way. Jesus says we must “become” and “be” like them.

For “must-see-to-believe” analyzers, that transformation can be difficult. The Apostle Thomas was one of those. Perhaps also, the possessed boy’s father.

Also consider:

Derek Prince, C.S. Lewis, and Lee Strobel,  famous atheists-turned-evangelists. The good they did is immeasurable. Like Paul, their books are gifts that keep giving.

For these three men, seeing Christ in the flesh (on this Earth) was no longer possible. Therefore, their faith journeys took time, signs, and intellectual consideration.

So they researched, considered, and BELIEVED! God was patient, knew their hearts, and helped them.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Doubters may look like “losers” for a time, but never write them off (since God doesn’t). God knows all hearts and some (like mine) take time to make the leap of faith to commitment.

But here’s some uplifting, worth-the-wait news: Doubters become enthusiastic saints– eager to share their transforming stories… which lights the Lord’s path for fellow doubters.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
