Christian Pitfalls: Lack Of Knowledge

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 1:7 (ESV)

An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

Proverbs 18:15 (ESV)

If you continue in My Word, then you are truly My disciples; and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

John 8:31-31 (NASB)

Knowing the truth is important to me. How else can I live and walk securely assured that I’m standing on solid ground? Just one drop of fiction mixed with the truth can make the hardest rock start to crumble.

Knowing Jesus Christ is more important: crucially and immeasurably more! Life now and life beyond depend on Him. When drops of fiction are mixed in our faith, we’re weakened and likely to slip off the Rock!

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Getting knowledge (and knowing its limits) removes confusion and clears UP all minds!

What kinds of knowledge should Christians acquire?

  • Biblical knowledge is first and foremost. Short sermons and devotions aren’t enough, because both involve human opinion. Skip the middlemen. Jesus IS the Word!

  • World knowledge and news revolve around men. When politics and power are at stake, what we see, read, and hear varies widely. Seek impartial news, but seek Jesus MORE!

What kinds of knowledge should Christians avoid?

  • Ranting, raving political shock talk! Why? Because God says so! ‘That we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness’ (1 Timothy 2:2).

  • Inflammatory conspiracy talk! Why? Because God says so! ‘Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The Lord Almighty is the One you are to regard as holy, He is the One you are to fear, He is the One you are to dread’ (Isaiah 8:12-13).

Bottom Line:

We’re not meant (or need) to “know” everything… because if we did, we wouldn’t need faith! This much we DO KNOW: Our Savior did it! Our Father has it. They gave it to us! It? Yes! Overwhelming, and undeniable peace, regardless of our life circumstances!

Christian Pitfalls: Lack Of Knowledge (Part 60)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
