Christian Pitfalls: Self-Condemnation

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus…

Romans 8:1 (NIV)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself. My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.

1 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NIV)

Our Father and Paul are perfectly clear: no church, person, or power can judge us guilty of spiritual damnation. They don’t have that right. They can’t see our hearts.  They’re not qualified, and neither are we!

Therefore, why do we…

  • Condemn ourselves and dwell on past mistakes? (When we ask Him, God forgives and forgets. Shall we condemn ourselves when God doesn’t?

    • Repeat after me: We don’t and I WON’T!

  • Feel unworthy of unqualified love? (Jesus died giving us exactly that. Shall we disregard our worth in God’s Eyes?

    • Repeat after me: We don’t and I WON’T!

  • Believe insults from haters as the truth? (Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Light. Shall we believe them, and disregard Him?

    • Repeat after me: We don’t and I WON’T!

  • Become our own worst skeptic and critic? Doubt and scoffing are the devil’s weapons. Shall we open ourselves to his attacks?

    • Repeat after me: We don’t and I WON’T!

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

You WILL face critics in the industry. It’s competitive and part of the job. Your godly dream is Satan’s worst nightmare, so he’ll try everything to stop your rise. God allows the fight to test your resolve.. and to build your strength.

PERSEVERE and DON’T CRITICIZE YOURSELF! Reset your mind on God’s worth (and your own.)
