Christian Pitfalls: Fear

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27 (NKJV)

Perfect love casts out fear.

1 John 4:18 (NKJV)

The pitfall of fear has grease on its sides; it’s easy to fall and harder to climb.

In my B.C. years, I tossed and turned on countless angst-filled nights– in the sweat of my inadequacy.

  • Solvable problems seemed unsolvable.

  • Doable projects seemed undoable.

  • Monstrous consequences “awaited” me,

  • As fear kept a grip on my mind and heart.

Part of my sleepy brain knew this was wrong, but I was too weak and tired to resist. Eventually, I got out of bed. Reason returned, but the fatigue lingered.

Consider:

Fear is worry’s default destination– a familiar path of bumpy potholes, which inevitably, leads us to fear: Satan’s MEGA MISSION-STOPPING MUDHOLE.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

In you, I’ve witnessed uncommon courage. In you, the Lord is building a fortress. As solo acts, you're Davids and Esthers: cool, talented, and irresistible– walking boldly into media’s fields.

Together, you become a fearsome force of royal guards pushing Satan's troops back, but to aimless fans seeking life’s purpose… you’re ambassadors for Christ, pointing up!

To the former, you're clothed in the armor of God. To the latter, you’re clothed in 'Robes of many colors (Psalm 45:14), 'Robes of Righteousness' (Isaiah 61:10), 'Garments of ministry' (Exodus 39:41), 'Garments of salvation' (Isaiah 61:10)... 'With zeal as a cloak' (Isaiah 59:17).

Ignore the roar of the lion, Satan. You follow a different Lion, You’re a member of a different tribe. The Lion of Judah WILL defend you. He was, IS, and remains UNDEFEATED.

‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go’ (Joshua 1:9).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
