Christian Pitfalls: Lust

Those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

1 Timothy 6:9 (NKJV)

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV)

Among non-material exports, freedom is America's greatest wealth. In the history of this young country, desperate people came by the boatload— to grow rich in the freedoms we offered.

SIDEBAR: 97% of Americans are (or descended from) brave immigrants.

But things have changed, and freedom has been chained. Today, our top commodity is LUST. America is lust’s epicenter, and we lead the world in its promotion!

Under the calculating direction of 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2)...

  • Lust has become our cash-in currency, and celebrity is our stock exchange.

  • People buy into it by the sky-load, in a desperate search for fulfillment.

  • Why? Emptiness is a gnawing hunger that hopeless souls are determined to feed.

But… indulging in lust precipitates spiritual (and fiscal) bankruptcy, How? Lust is a phony and empty promise. Fulfillment fades in the blink of an eye… leaving lust(ers) searching for their next fix!

Lust is Satan’s “Grand Canyon” pitfall, which is nothing more than an open wound. Most people (even Christians) have been there. Tragically, many never escape from the black hole with a lovely cover.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Lust isn’t only body-to-body. More frequently, it's body-to-booty: money, makeup, houses, wardrobe, gadgets, power, positions, popularity, accumulation, and intoxicants.

Lust begins with a look and a desire, but it ends with a rude awakening.

So DON’T buy into Satan's stock exchange. Instead, show yourselves as the stock of God: 'A chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him Who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light' (1 Peter 2:9).

When fans buy into you, they’ll meet Jesus! Your talent is bait and JESUS is the Switch! It’s a grand bait-and-switch operation.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
