King Saul: Disregard
Now the Israelites were in distress that day, because Saul had bound the people under an oath, saying, “Cursed be anyone who eats food before evening comes, before I have avenged myself on my enemies!” So none of the troops tasted food.
1 Samuel 14:2 (NIV)
1 Samuel 14 reveals King Saul's disregard of wisdom, justice, effort, and fatigue– disregard of his exhausted men’s need, and disregard of his own son's courage…
Who went (with only his armor-bearer), and slyly attacked an advancing troop. After Jonathan made his daring move, the earth quaked and the Philistines “quaked”, too! Surely, God was with this brave warrior. His sly pretense encouraged fellow troops.
So they rallied and fought valiantly, as the invading army scattered and ran. But instead of celebrating their win, Saul's quest for vengeance kept pushing his men. He ordered a fast… to keep them fighting.
However, this rash and foolish order didn’t reach his hungry son, Jonathan… who saw a honeycomb and took a bite.
So King Saul sentenced his heroic son, the leader of their victory, to death! But as Saul disregarded his people, his people disregarded his verdict (and Jonathan was spared that unfair fate.)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
You serve the Captain Who sees everything and regards every person in this world with tender, never-ending vigilance (regard-LESS of culture, status, or wealth).
If imitating Him is your order, (it is), then also imitate His love– toward everyone He puts in your path.
Just as He regards YOUR daily welfare, your King commissions you to regard THEIRS.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
