King Saul: Demons

So they arrived at the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gerasenes. When Jesus climbed out of the boat, a man possessed by an evil spirit came out from the tombs to meet him. This man lived in the burial caves and could no longer be restrained, even with a chain. Whenever he was put into chains and shackles—as he often was—he snapped the chains from his wrists and smashed the shackles. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Day and night he wandered among the burial caves and in the hills, howling and cutting himself with sharp stones.

When Jesus was still some distance away, the man saw him, ran to meet him, and bowed low before him.

Mark 5:1-6 (NLT)

Demonic possession and oppression: Do they still happen? Even to Christians?

Regarding King Saul: He believed in God! He wanted, needed, and sought God’s blessings. But was his madness inspired by demons? An argument for “possession” can be made.

Modern saints differ in their opinions on evil spirits: 'Spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms' (Ephesians 6:12).

But we can see from King Saul's “haunted” reign and the busy ministry of Jesus, that demons can both possess and oppress.

Even Job, God's good and faithful servant, experienced devastating torment under Satan's hand. Much later, in 1 Corinthians 5, the Apostle Paul teaches even more.*

  • Is demonic interference allowed by God for hard-to-understand reasons?

  • Is it, perhaps, the roughest, toughest love… that allows us to “suffer” our mistakes?

  • Is it “impossible-to-ignore” love, pushing us toward our Deliverer?

  • Does our Father allow offensive hits to take us down, so we’ll pause and look up?

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Long ago, God's Spirit in young David caused troubling spirits to flee from King Saul. (Sadly, it was only temporary.)

Today, you bring the Lord to every set. How many grief-causing phantoms will flee? I praise God for the Spirit you carry!

At first, Saul embraced God's Light carrier. Was lasting delivery possible? Perhaps, but Saul kept making bad choices, which turned into deal-breaking decisions.

NOTE: God offered Saul a decision to make. You now offer fans the best of choices! Great deliveries are still possible!

King Saul: Demons (Part 7)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
