Homesick: For Happiness
I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives,
Ecclesiastes 3:0-12 (NKJV)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: Consider two words: JOY and HAPPINESS. God's Word promises foundational joy. His Word acknowledges happiness, too. Each one is found in connection with Him.
SIDEBAR: Beware a small word that seems related: FUN! Its root comes from “fool”: to lie, cheat, or beat. While something enjoyable may feel fun, unholy acts are described as fun, too. So, be careful what kind of “fun” you choose– that it doesn’t cause someone else’s pain. Fun is never a trustworthy partner.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Joy and happiness are PROVEN PARTERS.
They're tender embraces from your Father.
They’re no-fail sunrises every morning.
They’re rainbow guarantees that storms DO end.
They’re footlights found in following Jesus.
They're wonderful advertisements for God…
Especially when they are seen in you,
Through love, faith and hope… when it’s not easy.
Like delayed success. Like disappointments. While on trial, remember Paul's great Words: 'I think myself happy' (Acts 26:2). Because he had 'Learned to be content whatever the circumstances' (Philippians 4:11).
Therefore, 'Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer' (Romans 12:12)...
And don’t get confused about happiness. It won't be found in an amusement park. It won’t be found in snuggled-up churches. It won’t be found in familiar pursuits.
It's found only in following Jesus on the path of the mission He assigns.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
