Christian Pitfalls: A Scheming Heart
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans…
Proverbs 6:16-18 (NKJV)
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Jeremiah 17:9 (ESV)
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10 (ESV)
Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.
Proverbs 4:23 (ESV)
God is crystal clear: All things… good and bad things, good and bad thoughts, good and bad words, good and bad acts… stem from the heart.
Our Father is also crystal clear that…
Our INTENTIONS are important to Him!
Because bad intentions lead to scheming, and evil schemes soon become evil acts…
Which bring suffering and calamity upon innocent, unaware people.
Key questions and answers to consider:
What are non-believers supposed to do? If they don’t know God, can their hearts get clean?
The Bible is written for believers. Other than representing Jesus well and praying for those God brings to our minds, we trust in God’s compassion and justice.
Should Christians be wary of worldly schemes? Aren’t outsiders most likely to cause harm?
The greatest danger for saints (and the world)... are false prophets seeking money and fame: fake Christians who misrepresent Jesus and lead followers away from the truth!
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
You’re lovely on the inside and outside. To keep your heart clean:
Stay in the Word as your Measure of truth.
Embrace David’s prayer in Psalm 51.
Find a church and close friends who are CLEARLY following Christ without an “agenda” of money, fame, or personal profit.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
