Christian Pitfalls: Feet Rushing To Evil

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to Him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to eviL, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren.

Proverbs 6:16-18 (ESV)

My son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths, for their feet rush into evil…

Proverbs 1:15-16 (NIV)*

Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.

Proverbs 4:26 (ESV)

In Roman days, crowds gathered for blood sports. Even today, violence attracts us, which is why BAD NEWS remains our focus. Violence is a morbid fascination.

  • Most of us sigh and ponder grim “what-ifs.”

  • The best of us look for ways we might help.

  • The worst of us get a malicious thrill.

  • The lost among us are susceptible…

To corrupt but CHARISMATIC leaders, who play to our fears and darkest desires. They make lonely people feel included– and offer the worst kind of “family”.

  • Think of street gangs, lynch mobs, and crazy cults.

  • Think of Hitler and the racists TODAY.

  • Think of diving into conspiracies,

  • As paths leading people AWAY from God.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

The path your feet choose begins as a thought, which grows from the foundation of your heart…

I pray to Jesus that you guard your heart… by staying in the Word, by focusing on Christ, and following HIM! Only toward Him, in His direction… is where your feet and ALL feet should hasten.

P.S. ‘Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them’ (Isaiah 8:12).

Christian Pitfalls: Feet Rushing To Evil (Part 6)

* “Their feet run to evil,.... To the evil of sin, to commit robberies and murder, and all manner of iniquity; they are eager upon it, and in haste and swift to do it; being carried away with their inordinate affections, which are as feet to the soul; and drawn aside with their lusts, and pushed on by Satan, and, encouraged by one another, and so rush on headlong to the evil…” (Gill’s Exposition on Proverbs 1:16 and 6:18)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
