Impossible Healings: 3 Prerequisites

Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, 'If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.'

Mark 5:25-28 (NKJV)

Consider just one marvelous account, where impossible became possible– in a truly exceptional healing. It illustrates the qualities required for you or a loved one to be transformed.

  • The woman with an issue of blood!*

For twelve years she bled. For twelve years she hoped. For twelve years she showed the faith to be healed--as she saw doctors again and again… until, at last, she ran out of money. But she refused to run out on her faith.

Instead, she hunkered down and inched forward. We serve a God Who rewards persistence!

In His ministry, Jesus healed thousands, and among them, a few are highlighted. Each one has key lessons for us to learn. Even so, all had…

3 things in common: HUMILITY, HOPE, and FAITH!

  • No matter the seemingly hopeless cause,

  • No matter the difficulties ahead,

  • No matter the length or time of their wait,

  • No matter if others tried to stop them,

  • No matter if people called them crazy,

  • No matter their wealth or their poverty,

  • No matter the public embarrassment,

When they approached (or re-approached) Jesus, they showed their humility, hope, and faith.

If 'Faith is the substance of things hoped for' (Hebrews 11:1), then unflinching hope yields undying faith, and their faith brought the substantiation of their dreams--in the form of MIRACLES!

If you need a miracle, walk these steps:

  1. Humble yourself. Pride will get you nowhere.

  2. Hold your hope tight and never release it.

  3. Fuel your faith with His Word, Spirit, and friends.

  4. Follow your Leader. Refuse to turn back.

  5. Wait expectantly and trust God's timing.

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
