Impossible Healings: When Opportunity Knocks

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My Voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Revelation 3:20 (NKJV)

He said to the man who had the withered hand, 'Step forward... Stretch out your hand.' And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.

Mark 3:3, 5 (NKJV)

The Healer stands at countless doors and knocks. Even our doors… for various reasons.

How many times have we been too busy, lazy, or hesitant to open them?

  • Maybe He's a small kid selling candy.

  • Maybe He’s a widow who wants to talk.

  • Maybe He's a lonely stranger at church.

What if your attention could change a life?

'Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me' (Matthew 25:40).

What if His attention could change YOUR life?

Jesus was a Carpenter-turned-Preacher.

  • He had a debated reputation.

  • Some people worshipped Him as a Prophet.

  • Some people hated Him as a phony.

His chief critics were religious leaders: respected men who should know right from wrong. Opening to Him meant closing to them. Therefore, trusting Him was risky business.

But what if YOUR hand is a withered hand? Or what if your life is a withered life?…

And a mysterious Missionary walks right up to you on Sunday morning? Your pastor seems angry at His presence. Nevertheless, the Stranger says to you:

'Step forward. Stretch out your hand'… (or your life) Would you do it? Or would you ignore Him?

Looking back to the true-account story: The man with the withered hand took the risk.

  • He chose to step up.

  • THEREFORE, he was healed.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ, you are God's unconventional leaders. He sends you to the fields of media. THEREFORE…

When Opportunity knocks on your door (and you know It’s Jesus), OPEN THE DOOR! Step up and do what His Spirit tells you.

Next, lead others in the same direction. Your courageous acts will inspire millions.

Because countless people need to be healed… and surely, Jesus will visit them, too.

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
