God’s Diplomats: Conduct Code (Peace)
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority, so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, Who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NLT)
Certainly, the ‘Prince of Peace’ (Isaiah 9:6) orders peace.
Even in unforeseen circumstances?
Even in the midst of mass confusion?
Even in justifiable distress?
Even in our instinct to fight or flee?
Yes! It’s your best opportunity to shine! When you showcase God’s grace under pressure, when you act extraordinarily calm… in extraordinarily troubling times, you’ll surprise and impress those around you– including the world’s movers and shakers.
Isn’t that exactly what Jesus did? He acted His best in the worst of times!
Here’s my big concern: When Christian actors are easily thrown, when they don't appear calm and confident, casting directors won’t want to hire them. Even worse, to all the fans watching them, doubt, angst or fear don’t represent God well.
On the other hand, God’s Righteous Right Hand…
‘How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things’ (Isaiah 52:7).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: As you climb the mountains of media, let peace that surpasses understanding support your public relations campaign.
Will you face trials and rejections? Yes! That’s par for the course. But you’re an ace who scores better than ‘par’.
When you see a group of actors complain, just smile and follow the Ultimate Ace.
