God’s Diplomats: Conduct Code (Patience)

Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 4:31 (NKJV)

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 (NIV)

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

2 Peter 3:9 (ESV)

Regarding patience: I’m a late bloomer. I began the practice of patience… LATE. Here’s what I know: Patience is a learned skill.

Babies don’t have it. Toddlers don’t have it. Neither do most school kids or young adults… unless they have notably wise parents… or lived in circumstances that built it.

As for me and my young life? I was spoiled. Privileged nations promote spoiling. Media flaunts celebrity lifestyles. The tragic result?

A generation of self-absorption, entitlement, and me-first impatience.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ: When a demon from hell whispers to you: ‘Your big break should have already happened. You’ve waited long enough. God do something else…’

Deny his lies in the Name of Jesus! REMEMBER:

  • Success comes in God’s perfect time. Not yours.

  • Along the way, pass each test of patience.

  • As you develop your patience ‘muscles’,

  • Use this strength to be patient with others.

  • Your patience with them is part of God’s plan.

Here’s my big concern: Showing impatience in media’s fields (when worldly performers know how to wait) makes Christians look childish to VIPs– and poorly represents their patient Lord.
