Isaiah 61: Your Role To Play
But you shall be named the priests of the Lord,
They shall call you the servants of our God.
You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,
And in their glory, you shall boast.
Isaiah 61:6 (NKJV)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
You’re a church, unrestrained by walls or roofs.
You’re priests, ordained by God, and not by men.
You’re stars, rising for such a time as this.
You’re Christ’s ambassadors, acting in love.
You’re servants, content in helping others.
To YOU God brings the riches of the world, so spend them wisely.
Because in and beyond your Christian kin… Because in and beyond media kings (and those who fund your performances)... are countless lost, hurt, and lonely people.
They’re poor, lame, blind, deaf, down, bound, and alone.
I was one of them.
They seek truth, life, health, joy, peace, and purpose.
I was one of them.
Most hide their despair quite effectively.
I did.
But none can win this game of hide and seek.
Because they’re chasing superficial gifts instead of The Giver of all REAL gifts. In trying to save their lives, they lose them. Nevertheless…
Through Him, they are saved. IN YOU, He is found.
I was one of them.
I thank God for His new generation of priests and servants: actors, models, and talent for Christ.
YOU are one of them!

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
