Little Leaguers: Judges Without Joy
Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master, he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
Romans 14:4 (NKJV)
There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?
James 4:12 (NKJV)
Hypocrite! First, remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.
Matthew 7:5 (NKJV)
Outside of a courtroom, judging people is a joyless job.* Why? Those condemned by self-appointed judges are understandably bothered by it.
What’s even worse? God’s not happy either. The result? WHEN GOD’S NOT HAPPY, NOBODY’S HAPPY!
A blaster gets blasted; a judge gets judged.
'Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you' (Matthew 7:1-2).
Only God knows hearts and circumstances. Only God is perfectly qualified.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: judging is one role to ALWAYS refuse. As Christ’s ambassadors, your job is joy: specifically, the spreading of it. You've got Good News that people need to hear!
Therefore, refuse to make cutting remarks or take sides in ugly games of gossip… because players of trivial pursuits WON’T get promoted to the major leagues: neither as risers for the King of kings, nor as stars for the kings of entertainment.
Even worse, media loves to feature 'Holier than thou' (Isaiah 65:5) judges on the news. 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2) will circle the earth to catch a Christian hurling stones of hatred on camera.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Your King didn’t hurl. He chose to receive.
'Come to Me' (Matthew 11:28, 19:14).
'Come to Me' (Mark 10:14).
'Come to Me' (Luke 11:6, 18:16).
'Come to Me' (John 6:37, 7:37).
Sour-mouthed stone-casters are brash impostors: 'For false christs and false prophets will rise' (Mark 13:22).
Only through joy, peace, patience, and kindness is your Captain truly represented.
Always Remember: Revealing Him is why you’re in the game.

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
