Everyday Stars: Reflect THE Star

As long as I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.

John 9:5 (ESV)

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)

Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness will cover the earth,
And deep darkness the peoples;
But the Lord will rise upon you,
And His glory will appear upon you.
Nations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.

Isaiah 60:-13 (NASB)

In uncountable ways only God sees, in giving, helpful, and selfless actions, most everyday stars are largely unknown.

Because their goal was never attention, they're content with their anonymity.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ: How can you reconcile today’s Verses with a Christian’s call to humility? How can you act out your King’s Commission in the star-struck fields of entertainment…

Without fans seeing you and knowing you? Or applauding you and following you? You can’t…

Which brings us to some thought-provoking points:

  • Fame isn’t evil. Jesus was famous.

  • Early disciples became famous, too.

  • Entertainment creates and promotes fame.

  • Some stars turn their fame into infamy.

  • Should you, God’s performers, lay low instead?

  • What if you get confused and turned around?

  • You won’t. You’re clean and protected by God!

  • But you MUST stay close to Jesus… daily.

  • You must humble yourself, just as He did,

  • And give God all the glory for your wins.

Because EVERYDAY STARS reflect THE Star, and His glow is the only glow that lasts.

Even if your name doesn’t gain big fame, all of Heaven cheers your performances.

If one good act helps even one lost fan, was it worth it all the effort you put in? As God is your Witness, IT SURELY IS!

Your worth isn’t measured by quantity. Each life you brighten is priceless to God.

Everyday Stars… Reflect THE STAR (Part 17, Conclusion)

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
