Ten Commandments For Christian Performers: #7, No Sleaze

You shall not commit adultery.

Exodus 20:14 (NASB)

But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Matthew 5:28 (NKJV)

Christian men worry: “This expanded Law seems impossible.” Ladies confess their own thoughts of romance.

To make matters worse, sensuality is sensationalized in film, fashion, music, and theatre.

On the small screens we carry everywhere, sex talk is common. Seduction is a big part of business. It’s irresistible advertising: a proven method of making money.

Can any show resist and still succeed?

Sleaze is justified by its performers and producers as 'artistic freedom.' As this media-driven lust parade sashays forward, a trail of tears follows from hopeless eyes where innocence is lost.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Can you rise in such a culture as this? Yes! God chose you for 'such a time as this' (Esther 4:14).

Esther was in the beauty business, too. Her story reveals God’s power in it. His commanding Presence provides the reins to harness shows and temptations for good.

He’ll give you supernatural favor, discernment, and protection… to be cool, fashionable, and irresistible while still honoring Him--just like Esther.

You’ll receive day-to-day and job-to-job guidance about roles to take or turn down: how to be in this world, but not of it.

You know better than to hurl cutting stones of condemnation at salacious stars. Instead, you walk in love (and cleaner style)– never needing to cross the line of lust.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If anything I write is on point and agrees with His Word, it’s not from me. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings. This series is a re-write of a prior 2011 series.
