Ten Commandments For Christian Performers: #8, No False Messiahs

You shall not steal.

Exodus 20:15 (NASB)

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

John 10:10 (NKJV)

Satan came to take. Jesus came to give. As Christians, are we following His lead?

What could Christian actors steal?

THE SPOTLIGHT!

Competition is fierce for starring roles. Hollywood vets are used to the battle--fighting for castings, struggling for notice. This type of stealing is called ‘upstaging.’ Every actor is familiar with it.

What’s worse than upstaging fellow actors?

It’s stealing eyes, ears, and hearts from Jesus. Tragically, it happens in churches!

  • False Christians mislead those who follow them.

  • False prophets pretend to see (but they can’t).

  • False pastors cleverly manipulate.

Here’s what these impersonators DO know. Popularity brings fame and money. (Strangely, they’re convinced they’re helping people.)

What about the lost sheep they’re misleading?

  • Some truly love Jesus, but don’t grow up.

  • Some flee the obvious hypocrisy.

  • Both become targets for the enemy.

Instead of finding love, joy, peace, and health, they find idols leading to emptiness or challenges they don’t know how to win.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Either way, you’re positioned to help by rising in the fields of media.

You point eyes, ears, and hearts to the REAL STAR!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If anything I write is on point and agrees with His Word, it’s not from me. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings. This series is a re-write of a prior 2011 series.
