To The End: Holding The Course
You will be hated by all for My Name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
Matthew 10:22, Mark 13:13 (NKJV)
For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.
Hebrews 3:14 (NKJV)
But Christ as a Son over His Own house, Whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.
Hebrews 3:6 (NKJV)
Few people want to be 'Hated by all.' Most performers hope for the opposite.
We imagine boos and ugly comments; rejection, dejection, and joblessness.
Kill those thoughts now, because God forbids them. The only combatants who will hate you are enemy agents or nincompoops, but you're on the guaranteed winning side. So…
Remember five things:
As God's appointed, Satan can’t touch you.
Nevertheless, expect opposition.
God allows it to test and strengthen you.
Success WILL come… on His terms and timing.
Always pause and pray. Never leave or quit.
In order to achieve your starring roles, recall and rehearse three words: 'To the end.' God doesn't reward fainters or quitters.
So whatever obstacles come your way–like losing a part or waiting 'too' long, like facing skeptics or losing comforts, like fearing failure or doubting yourself…
And whatever temptations come your way--like too-easy parts or cheap-easy thrills, or familiar faces, stay on the path your Lord ordained for you. Keep believing in the ‘Father of lights’ (Jamess 1:17), His power, and by reflection, your own.
If you quit the field, your big breakout role may have come one day or callback to come… just around the proverbial corner or just beyond the crest of the nest hill.
Your one good choice? Hold the course to the end.
So like Paul and Timothy, you can say, 'I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith' (2 Timothy 4:7).
So like Christ, you can say, 'It is finished!' (John 19:30).
Because God says, 'For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come. It will not tarry' (Habakkuk 2:3).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ WIN!
To The End: Holding the Course (Part 3, Conclusion)
NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
