God made Him Who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV)

I will greatly rejoice in the Lord. My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness,

Isaiah 61:10 (NKJV)

I can't count all the arguments I've had, based on my CERTAINTY OF BEING RIGHT, which meant that someone or something was “WRONG.”

As I now walk the lane called “elderly”, I’ve learned two things with senior certainty:

  1. No one on Earth is absolutely right (at least not since Jesus, the Man, went home).

  2. Debating a fool is a waste of time, AND foolishness spreads! Wise men get stupid.

Since we’re all counted in the kin of Christ, we’ve been given His FOOL-PROOF righteousness. It's a Robe that's clean and comfortable.

  • It’s not pretentious. It doesn’t parade. It flows gently with ease and graciousness.

  • It won’t fit puffed-up, pretentious pontiffs. Show-off words and big degrees make them “fat”.

  • It abstains from frivolous arguments and allows God to set all parties straight.

  • It submits to insults and debasement, because Jesus did, and God avenges.

  • It doesn't seek applause or approval, but DOES seek to please both Father and Son.

  • It avoids divisions and contentions. It walks in love and looks for common ground.

Our King’s Robe of Righteousness is priceless. He paid the ultimate price to share it with small, dirty us, who choose to believe. Therein, let’s rise, shine and give HIM glory… as humble and thankful children of God.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
