You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Isaiah 26:3 (ESV)

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Matthew 5:9 (ESV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 14:27 (ESV)

Regrettably, our world is not peaceful. Wars and rumors of wars are everywhere.

  • Even among comfy congregations or families that seem so “together”, harmful conflicts hide behind pretty doors.

  • Even within Earth’s mightiest nations (like America and E.U. members). acts of violence (large and small) abound.

Nevertheless and all the more, God's Word provides an overriding peace: peace that surpasses all understanding. Deep within our hearts, we know, “GOD’S GOT THIS!”

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

You’re the King’s bridge over troubled waters. As you extend yourself and your talent into the roiling seas of media, you surf over the waves of bad content.

You don’t hate or condemn the turbulence, because that would be counter-productive.

You bridge the gap between bobbing swimmers (a.k.a. star-struck fans caught in the waves) and THE Lifeguard, Who wants them safe and sound.

Your heroic path in pursuit of peace (in places “Christians” condemn and avoid) is a kind and compelling calling card. It invites everyone looking for help into your Captain Salvation-bound boat!

For me, staying peaceful is a challenge. (Fear and anger can still wash over me.) Since God tells us to go to all nations, which requires traveling in stormy seas, we must make sure we stay CLOSE TO JESUS, securely tied to the anchor of hope.

'Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way' (2 Thessalonians 3:16).

P.S. Practical tip for those who fight anger: If you (like me) sometimes lack self-control… and angry words can fly out of your mouth… isolate yourself immediately and take all your anger straight up to God. He can handle it! Tell Him everything you’re upset about. If your cause is just, He’ll give justice (which may involve a more self-controlled you:) If your cause isn’t, He’ll straighten YOU out– kindly, and without recrimination.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
