Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”
Mark 1:17 (NLT)
Everybody is fishing for something: “stuff” worldly men deem desirable, like…
Food, friends, homes, health, wealth, work, deals, love, looks, books,
Passion, purpose, trinkets, titles, leaders,
Justice, respect, or appreciation!
But mostly, we're fishing for salvation: a person, place, or thing to rescue us… from the heartaches or drudgery of life!
When none of the fish we “catch” provide it, we jump into oceans of temptations. And once we do, WE, OURSELVES, BECOME FISH.
Because the water feels good for a while and we forget the things that didn't work. But every time we get out and dry off, our lives feel so bleak… we jump in again.
Sooner or later, we know we're drowning. Once there, the hook of Christ calls out to use.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Despairing people are waiting for YOU. They know they're lost, and they want to be found. They know they're trapped, and they want to be saved.
They’re hungry fish seeking the Bread of Life, which, as you know, is found only in Christ. Therein, consider how the process works:
Your talent is a fan-attracting lure. It’s shiny bait, reflecting the True Light!
Your net is woven by love and kindness, best modeled in your off-stage behavior.*
Your Captain and Father wait patiently for lost sheep and prodigals to come home. Because…
Soon they’ll become new creations in Christ and won’t be dangling on the devil’s hook… because (regrettably for wide-eyed fans), the devil now “trawls” the very same seas– called film, fashion, music, and theatre.

* If fans are attracted by your talent, they're drawn in further by your behavior. The best behavior/food you can offer them is the fruit of the Holy Spirit: 'The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law' (Galatians 5:22-23, NASB).
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
