The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
Psalm 23:1-3 (ESV)
Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
Matthew 10:16 (ESV)
The analogy of people to sheep is used by the Lord in both Testaments. But is being called “a sheep” demeaning?
To the world, it's a subservient name– as if we don't possess minds of our own.
To the church, it's an acceptable name–although most Christians would rather be shepherds.
Still, it's one of our Savior's highest Names. For us, Jesus became the Lamb of God. He wasn't even a fully grown sheep. Instead, He was fully vulnerable…
Relinquishing all control of His Life (seemingly to the cruel will of men), but in truth… to His Father in Heaven, Who turned His sacrifice into glory.

Therefore, study the attributes of sheep. Because only in sheeplike submission can you become unassailably strong.

Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
