Name Tags: You are… Crucified With Christ

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20 (NIV)

We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.

Romans 6:6 (NLT)

When I became a committed Christian, I couldn’t grasp how crucifixion might apply to me– and frankly, I was SCARED.

Reading the physical facts is shocking. Imagining what Christ and others felt… is a trip into the dreamscapes of hell.

For most victims, it was a l-o-n-g ordeal: moment-to-moment, breath-sucking anguish.

But consider a parallel for us:

It’s our spiritual crucifixion. Could it be called “Dying To Selfishness”? I realize the torment can’t compare, but it IS a long and wracking process.

Dying to worldliness is a trial. It involves moment-to-moment choices. The better choice might bring a piercing prick, as breaths of selfishness are squeezed away.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Let’s consider what our Captain’s order means (regarding our own crucifixions.) Being born-again is a big first step. But growing into MATURE disciples… necessitates growing self-discipline.

Because we're living in dangerous times, because Satan continues to attack… we mustn’t choose to remain baby saints.

Seasoned warriors are needed RIGHT NOW: crucifying our destructive desires— and striking firm nails through our selfishness.

When Christians bow down, His Spirit steps up, and the power in YOU will be awesome!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
