Trailblazers: Fear No Evil

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13 (ESV)

Then David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.”

1 Chronicles 28:20 (ESV)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 14:27 (ESV)

David, the giant slayer, didn't fear evil when he ran toward Goliath.

Jesus, our Captain, didn't fear evil when He rebuked religious hypocrites.

BUT…

Elijah, God’s bold prophet, WAS frightened of Queen Jezebel and 'Ran for his life' (1 Kings 19:3).

Peter, Christ’s lead disciple, WAS frightened for his life and denied Jesus three times.

What WE need to know:

Fear is normal, and most people feel it. Joshua's story provides a good plan. Although his courage was battle-proven, fear stepped in when Moses (his boss) stepped out:

God 'Inaugurated Joshua the son of Nun, and said, 'Be strong and of good courage; for you shall bring the children of Israel into the land of which I swore to them, and I will be with you' ' (Deuteronomy 31:23).

As Deuteronomy’s epic concludes, and the Book of Joshua continues, God’s 'Be strong and of good courage' message is said four more times.* Does God repeat himself? Yes, when needed! Joshua needed God’s enCOURAGEment. So do most of us!

Actors, models, and talent for Christ: What's your action plan?

  • If you 'Put on Christ' (Galatians 3:27), then you put on strength: 'I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me' (Philippians 4:13).

  • If you put on 'Good courage' (2 Corinthians 5:6), you 'Walk by faith, not by sight' (v.7).

Summarily, you…

Copy the acts of David and Jesus. They fully relied on God to perform their death-defying, foe-defeating acts.

  • What are the odds of a teenage shepherd beheading a gigantic warrior?

  • What are the odds of a meek Carpenter ending the devil’s unimpeded reign?

  • What are the odds of performers like you setting the stage for THE Rock Star’s return?

Wherever God is, odds are meaningless. Because Salvation’s Captain always wins. It's high time for YOU to take the stages the Great Director created for you. His Face must be seen. His Voice must be heard.

NOTE: Prior to your rising, shining courage, Christians hid from the “land of promises” (called “Arts, Entertainment and Media”).

Consequently, our world was overwhelmed with false promises and bad examples. Your role is to rise and shine in these fields… in bold acts of love, fearing no evil.

In the strength of God, you've already won.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.

* Joshua 1:6: 'Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.'

* Joshua 1:7: 'Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the Law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.'

* Joshua 1:9: 'Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.'

* Joshua 1:18: 'Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.'
