Trailblazers: Lead Lost Children

See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the Face of My Father in Heaven.

Matthew 18:10 (NIV)

whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

Matthew 18:6 (ESV)

Our Trail Guide blazed a trail to find the lost: 'For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost' (Luke 19:10).

He also blazed a clear trail for children: 'Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these' (Matthew 19:14).

After Peter's denial of Jesus, and after His witnessed resurrection, Jesus asked Peter to speak and PROVE his love: ' 'Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?' He said to Him, 'Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.' He said to him, 'Tend My lambs' ' (John 21:15).

Now, in this age of modern media age, we face an epidemic of lost lambs. Consider 3 common categories:

  1. Milk-fed toddlers (who pretend to be grown), but dream or play with their phones in the pews. Why? A lack of critical discipleship. A lack of solid-food, tough-love sermons. But even for the most godly pastors, tending lambs takes more than 2 hours a week.

  2. Fed-up teens who turn their backs on the church… for its pride, judgment, and hypocrisy. When adults do NOT practice what they preach, when they condemn everyone but themselves, their children rebel. Puffed-up words and men are turn-offs to them.

  3. Media-fed, NON-churched adolescents, who’ve never witnessed the goodness of God. They’ve never felt the kindness of Christians, so instead, they follow celebrities– seeking guidance, happiness, and purpose, because their life has been hard and they’re sad:(

Actors, models, and talent for Christ: Think on 3 more things:

  1. God's movement in media is youth-led. Every war puts young, strong warriors on the front line. Most go forth thinking they're invincible. But sadly, they aren’t. You go forth knowing you're invincible. Because with Jesus, you are.

  2. Kids are prime-time targets for the devil, as they tragically were for Hitler. Pre-war Nazi Germany conned millions of children to walk down the worst of paths. For its own nefarious purposes. Isn't media doing the same thing? *

  3. If you become a cool and constant star in a confusing and wandering world, kids will follow you. When they follow you, they follow Jesus. Isn't that the whole point of this movement? To show the lost the BEST WAY to get home?

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.

* 'Youth is susceptible to evil doctrine. Whether we teach young Christians truth or not, the devil will be sure to teach them error. They will hear of it somehow, even if they are watched by the most careful guardians. The only way to keep chaff out of the child's little measure is to fill it brimful with good wheat. Oh, that the Spirit of God may help us to do this! The more the young are taught the better; it will keep them from being misled' (Charles Spurgeon).
