Soldier's Orders: Broken & Rebuilt

The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. The Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes… Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.

Matthew 21:42-43 (NIV)

You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 2:5 (NKJV)

Do men’s armies resemble God's army? In a few ways, they do! Consider one: To join, both need breaking and rebuilding.

Recruits must be “broken” from their old ways to be “recreated” into soldiers: united members of a fighting team. The plan?

To transform them from glory to glory… into the buff image of G.I. Joe, a fearless fighting man from head to toe.

Heaven heralds another Fighting Man. His Name is Jesus, the Rock, God's Own Son! The Victor of the world’s biggest battle; the King of fearless citizen-soldiers. (For mature Christians, serving is ordered.)

Sooner or later, everyone will meet Salvation’s Captain. Uncommitted people face two choices:

  1. Be broken eagerly and gratefully, while God rebuilds us slowly and gently. (He’s the opposite of a drill sergeant. Instead, He’s the kindest Father ever!) In due time, He teaches us how to fight the real enemy. Not men, but Satan.

  2. Be crushed in our proud and tiny “self-doms,” blindly or willingly serving Satan, who slyly molds us into his image. As botanists and scientists confirm, we’re all evolving. Nothing is static. No one can abstain from life’s biggest choice.

SIDEBAR: I was in Group 2, but made a huge shift. I WAS crushed by my life’s circumstances… but not completely! Jesus welcomed me. Now, from faith to faith, glory to glory, I’m being rebuilt into an Image that no person or demon can conceive: a citizen-soldier in God’s army.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Volunteer to be broken and rebuilt. It's a selfless soldier’s heartfelt duty. Neither you nor I know what’s best for us. Even more, it's your ticket to success:

'Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you' (1 Peter 5:6-7).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
