Soldier's Orders: Soldier Baby's First Steps
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
Regarding faith, who has more than toddlers? To little children, life is a wonder and small things are fun.
Without doubt, they trust their needs will be met.
Without fear, they jump into open arms.
Without fail, they look for the good in life.
Children born into families of faith start their lives with many advantages, including knowing the meaning of life.
Most kids are raised on wonderful diets: 'The Bread of Life' (John 6:35) and 'The fruit of the Spirit... love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness' and 'self-control' (Galatians 5:22-23).
And most learn the chain of command early: who's in charge, how to pray– and self-control. They're guarded from common pitfalls and plots. Committing to Jesus feels natural. The way doesn't seem so hard and narrow, because their closest kin travel with them.
But what if well-meaning Christian parents try to “protect” their children from the world, so they build church walls of isolation?
What if soldier kids lack the challenges and street smarts of how “to play” with others?
What if they see hypocrisy at home? Adults who aren’t practicing what they preach?...
Because 21st-century children know hype, hate fakes, and MUST NOT “fear” the world.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
If you're young and reading this devotion, I think your parents are doing it right: building your faith and fearlessness in Christ.
If you're an adult, maybe you grew up as a soldier baby– or maybe not. Either way, you're “enlisted” right now.
Today’s marching order?
Don't live like Christian babies in bubbles. Don’t wall yourself off in baby faith groups. Lives must be saved… and THE WORLD is your field.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
