Becoming: Complete

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God Who works in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world…

Philippians 2:12-15 (ESV)

Like the greatest Servant we’ve ever seen, our Example worked until He finished.

Like the greatest story we’ve ever read, our world keeps working until its finale.

Like the greatest creation ever made, each of us work until OUR completion: 'conclusion, fulfillment' (Random House Dictionary).

For every person ever born on Earth, becoming “complete” is an inner drive: a work in progress; a strong compulsion… toward fulfillment.

The God-shaped hole in our incomplete hearts… desperately longs for its missing Part. Because the Master Designer of us, 'Set eternity in the human heart' (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Without this Connection, we feel empty. A drumbeat propels us to reach and seek, but to where and for what and we headed?

There's never enough fame, fun, perks, people, wealth, drinks, or food to fill a human heart– nor enough power to keep it running.

  • The fame that woos us makes us its puppets.

  • The fun that thrills us leads us nowhere (good).

  • The perks that please us will lose their luster.

  • The people that love us can't perfect us.

  • The wealth that we desire comes to “own” us.

  • The drinks that calm us put us in bondage.

  • The foods that taste good leave us so quickly.

  • Personal power is an illusion.

Nothing completes us but God and His Son. His Heart (joined to us) IS our missing Part. Jesus finished His Father’s work on Earth: 'I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly' (John 10:10).

But don't confuse the abundance of Christ… with fame, fun, perks, people, wealth, drinks, or food. Confusing God's Word is the devil’s game. That’s a con you recognize and avoid.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

When Jesus filled you, your true work began: The Great Commission! Its completion is the reason you’re here.* Miraculously, it's a God-in-us collaboration: 'He Who has begun a good work in you will complete it' (Philippians 1:6).

You've been given talents to rise and shine in the dark skies of modern media. So RISE in the power of His witness!

Becoming: Complete (Part 11)

* 'Then Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age' ' (Matthew 28:18-20).

* 'And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned' ' (Mark 16:15-16).

* 'Then He said to them, 'Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things' ' (Luke 24:46-48).

* ''So Jesus said to them again, 'Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you' ' (John 20:21)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
