Losers: Homeless People

Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.

Matthew 8:20 (ESV)

We are foreigners and strangers in Your Sight, as were all our ancestors. Our days on earth are like a shadow, without hope.

1 Chronicles 29:15 (NIV)

Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls.

1 Peter 2:11 (NLT)

During His ministry, Jesus was homeless. SO WAS Faith’s founding father, Abraham. SO WAS Moses when he fled from Egypt. SO WAS David, when he fled from King Saul… (not to forget Noah and family),

  • If we pause and consider our own lives (with all the “constructions” we so cherish),

  • Including carefully tended houses, assets, achievements, and the stuff we “own”,

  • Even in our God-given awareness that everything here is temporary…

Many Christians still don’t “identify” as God’s pilgrims, strangers, and foreigners… simply passing through this present-day world.

This being said, neither Father nor Son… see or treat homeless people as “losers”.

Actors, model, and talent for Christ:

The Word of God gives Christians many names, and studious saints have made lists of them.* They’re encouraging and ENLIGHTENING!

Let’s focus on one name I use a lot. Why? To me, it best represents my calling (and possibly yours):

‘We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us’ (2 Corinthians 5:20).

If you and I are Christ’s ambassadors, then we might be called “homeless visitors” (with temporary accommodation), and the job or representing Jesus and Heaven as a better place to live!

Therein, see actual homeless people as children of God in need of a home. Treat them with respect and help when you can!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
