Images: 21st-Century Ambassadors
If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (NIV)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
The world is in a time of deep darkness. Isaiah 61 describes it well, along with your role within the darkness. Yes, you’re 21st-century temples, filled with the light, love, and peace of Jesus.
But you’re also trending ambassadors, sent to strange mission fields early Christians couldn’t possibly know or imagine: the mission fields we call ENTERTAINMENT!
The Lord of light allowed their creation, and He gave you gifts to rise within them.
This storyline is written in His Book.
Performing is your “day job” and your hook.
As you reclaim space the enemy took,
Uncommonly attractive is your look.
Remember your role! As ambassadors, you represent Christ, by living (for a time) in strange cultures– with uncommonly gracious behavior, which the Word calls, “The fruit of the Spirit.” (I call these fruits no-fail “appetizers”.)
'The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness' and 'self-control' (see Galatians 5:22-23). Everyone loves these unusual treats!
When people who eat them feel more relaxed, offer them the most refreshing water: 'He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water' (John 7:38).
Sooner or later, replenished people may request the main course, 'The Bread of Life' (John 6:35).
As your King’s temples and ambassadors, that's pretty much the crux of your mission!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
