Images: God's Design

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…

Jeremiah 1:5 (NKJV)

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Psalm 139:16 (NIV)

What an incredible honor God gave people when He made us in His Image! Although He created angels before us– even they can't claim this special status.

How wondrous His plans. How splendid His love: 

  • To call us His children and family,

  • To give us such a primetime position,

  • To trust in us to carry out His plans.

In this unique light, consider these words:

'The earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God... because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God' (Romans 8:19-21).

What does this mean? Do animals and forests yearn for US? Do they yearn for the peace found in Eden? An unpolluted, peaceful paradise? Yes!

God made His children 'To rule over the works' of His Great Hands.*

  • 'When this is effected, Satan, sin, death, misery, and all wicked creatures, will be consigned to hell; and the rest of God's creation will appear glorious, pure, beautiful, orderly, and happy; in every respect answering the end for which it was formed' (Benson Commentary on Romans 8:20-21).**

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Before that fateful day your parents met, the Lord “conceived” the idea of YOU: your gifts, talents, mission, and potential. With grand love, He made YOU in His Image– to walk the world at such a time as this.

While Adam’s sin begot a fallen world, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ saved it. Now your job is to continue His work: to walk in love and set the captives free. In the field God has called you to enter, the captives are controlled by media.

In recent decades, 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2), acquired an unprecedented foothold… 

  • Through countless millions of compelling screens,

  • That mislead the moves of countless lost sheep,

  • Who follow bad images to great harm!

Into this fascinating industry, God’s new design is for His stars to rise, with helpful images… leading to Him.

Images: God’s Design (Part 2)

* 'You make him to rule over the works of Your Hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
All sheep and oxen,
And also the beasts of the field,
The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea,
Whatever passes through the paths of the seas' (Psalm 8:6-8).

* 'Let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth' (Genesis 1:26).
