Dream Haters: Serious Stupor
Everyone is senseless and without knowledge.
Jeremiah 10:14 (NIV)
Lord, your hand is lifted high, but they do not see it.
Isaiah 26:11 (NIV)
Serious stupor can cover our dreams and destinies with obscuring cobwebs, like a forgotten Bible on a shelf… or a sticky web on millions of screens.
Before we know it, our eyes are turned to stupefying sights, and our ears are tuned to deafening sounds.
Stupor means 'a state of mental numbness' (American Heritage) or a deadening of human senses. Spiritually speaking, its victims become dim and dull… incrementally:
'The hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed' (Matthew 13:15).
'Everyone is dull-hearted, without knowledge' (Jeremiah 51:17).
God says these conditions can be fatal:
'The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the Gospel' (2 Corinthians 4:4).
'My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge' (Hosea 4:6).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Your Captain calls YOU to make a difference:
Rather than acts of serious stupor, you ACT WITH SINCERE SENSITIVITY.
Rather than thoughts fogged up in confusion, you THINK PRUDENTLY with the Mind of Christ.
Rather than blindness in eyes filled with scales, you SEE WHAT’S AROUND YOU with clarity.
Rather than deafness in ears closed to truth, you TUNE IN TO GOD and His direction.
Rather than hearts hardened by religion, you LOVE WITH SOFT HEARTS, kindly and gently.
Rather than living a dummied-down life, you RISE AND SHINE in Christ’s Great Commission.
If Walking Dead was a hit TV show, then let 'Walking uprightly' (Micah 2:7) be YOUR show: a show of light so remarkably bright, that fans are drawn to your obvious warmth.
Soon, serious stupor has been shaken off like creation on the first day of spring: 'Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new' (2 Corinthians 5:17).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
