The Call To Overcome: First Blood

This is My Blood of the Covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 26:28 (ESV)

And they have conquered him by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…

Revelation 12:11 (ESV)

When 'God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life' (John 3:16)...

Jesus became a Man on a mission– of love (for us) and war (against Satan). In God’s perfection, these two grand missions were one and the same.

  • Because 'Hope does not disappoint' (Romans 5:5),

  • Because 'Strength is made perfect in weakness' (2 Corinthians 12:9),

  • Because 'Love never fails' (1 Corinthians 13:8),

  • Because 'Those who humble themselves will be exalted' (Luke 18:14),

  • Because 'Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it' (John 1:5)...

The devil was stunned by this strategy. Pride blinded him to The Man’s battle plan. When God’s Captain said, 'I did not come to bring peace, but a sword' (Matthew 10:34)…

Where was His sword, and how would He use it?

The Adversary’s* humiliation came in a stroke of staggering brilliance!

As a “classic” Southern lady might say, “Glory be, Jesus just LOVED him to death.”

On the Cross, without hands, words, or weapons, the Lamb of God conquered ‘The great dragon’ (Revelation 12:9), and the biggest trial EVER was won!

Yes, the Lamb took a hit. But in hindsight, 'The deceiver' (Revelation 12:10) was the one who got nailed.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

In Earth’s greatest war, Jesus shed first Blood… WILLINGLY to save us eternally. His most incredible gift was Himself:

'Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends' (John 15:13).

His love overcame the devil and death for all of His friends, which now includes us!

What can we do for our King in return? We can spread His Good News, make lots of friends, and continue His call to overcome.

The Call To Overcome: First Blood (Part 2)

  • Satan is called ‘The adversary’ in 1 Peter 5:8.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
