The Taylor Swift Effect: Family/Community
God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing…
Psalm 68:6 (NIV)
Loneliness often leads to hopelessness. Hopelessness often leads to depression.
Without taking these sad feelings to God, without a good family that loves us…
Isolation becomes imprisoning, and the devil becomes our jail-master.
GOD FORBID!
Taylor’s fans have become a family: united by their love of the pop star and appreciation for her music.
Happily, they adopt the name, “Swifties”. In this union, they find community: a kind and welcoming circle of friends.*
One long-term Swiftie puts it this way:
“She’s perfectly captured every feeling I’ve ever had, and although the situations themselves are hugely different, there’s such relatability in her songs – being hurt, being bullied, feeling alone. I first heard her when I was 12 and now I’m 27. She’s like the big sister I never had.”
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
You represent your Father’s family. Sadly, the Christian Church (in general)... often ignores Earth’s loneliest people: “lost lambs” needing THE Shepherd (AND A HERD)– not cold pews or unwelcoming circles, where no one says “Hi!”– much less, includes you.
So take a note from the popstar’s playbook, but JOIN THE SYMPHONY of God’s Good Book!
You’ve been placed in a position to help: a position as Christ’s ambassadors… with kind smiles and open arms of fellowship.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
LINKS, NOTES & THINGS TO CONSIDER
* “There has never been a fanbase quite like the Swifties. Their fervor for the pop star is unmatched in the music world. Taylor Swift could quite literally make any move she wanted to and her legion of fans the world over would follow suit. It’s a scary amount of power for one woman to hold. Luckily, Swift holds it with grace and an even head…”
“Because the Swifties feel so seen by Swift–both personally and through her music–they put their full power behind the singer. We can only guess that Swift’s fellow nominees at award shows know they’re up against a true force when they see her name alongside their own. The Swifties won’t let Swift lose at anything she does. It’s a symbiotic relationship that has yet to be replicated in the music industry.”
