The Taylor Swift Effect: Talent
A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.
Proverbs 18:16 (NKJV)
Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the king’s palace, across from the king’s house, while the king sat on his royal throne in the royal house, facing the entrance of the house. So it was, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight…
Esther 5:1-2 (NKJV)
Explicitly, for Christian performers, talent has a unique definition and an unusual call to action:
It’s an attention-grabbing gift from God.
It’s a crucial responsibility.
God’s servants must multiply their talents,
By “investing” them in worldly structures…
Which will, in turn, glorify their Owner!
Surely, Taylor Swift has many talents, and that discovery started early. At 14, she signed a deal with Sony, as their youngest-ever-signed songwriter!
She and her parents made it their business to learn, grow, and multiply her talents. The process took extraordinary faith.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Consider a few talent parallels between Taylor and remarkable you!
God entrusted each of you with talents! No one else in the world has what you have.
Like Taylor, you must work to polish them. In the process, they’ll grow, and so will you.
Trees strengthen when harsh winds push against them. Taylor pushed through them. You must do the same.
Performing talents are unusual, and they require unusual courage.
You’re both communication specialists… touching and lifting the hearts around you.
If you keep putting your best foot forward, your shining talent will be exercised, as the right doors continue to open!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
