Poor People: Receive Deliverance

He lifted up His Eyes on his disciples and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.”

Luke 6:20-21 (ESV)

Throughout the Bible, cover-to-cover, poor people get SPECIAL DELIVERIES. God both notes and promotes the least likely:

  • A long shot faced with impossible odds.

  • A baby boy floating in a basket.

  • A starving widow who shares her last meal.

  • “Wanna-be” mothers who couldn’t conceive.

  • A group of despised and outcast lepers.

  • A sinner on the cross next to Jesus.

All people of conscience, Christian or not, are uplifted by inspiring stories: glorious stars raised out of poverty, separated siblings reunited, unlikely heroes saving someone’s life, or hometown stars finding “big-league” success.

Here’s something I noted that impressed me, something that helped s-m-o-o-t-h my path to Jesus:

It was simple Christians with modest jobs– who never seemed to lack for ANYTHING and ALWAYS found the time and means to help… whoever and whatever needed help.

I met them at “old” Shine Talent Searches. When they got a callback to our program, their “YES” wasn’t a matter of money. It was a matter of heartfelt prayer.

If God said “GO”, then they stepped out in faith. They trusted in God for their tuition. Surprising to “old me,” God delivered! He had a long-term plan for them (and me)!

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

God's timing can be hard to understand, What seems “late” to us… turns out perfectly. So keep walking forward– no matter what.

Poor people of God are quietly rich.

Your own special delivery WILL COME. “When” is His business, but His promise stands.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
