All Things: Require Good Actors

I will show you my faith by my works.

James 2:18 (ESV)

Today, an actor is a performer. To be good at it implies excellence. Both acting and excellence are required to rise in the fields of entertainment. As in professional (physical) sports, success combines coaching, talent, and work.

The root of the word, actor (act), comes from Latin, “actus”, which translates: “a doing.” For a Christian to be “a good actor,” both godliness and “doing” are needed!

This means we can’t sit in complacency… nor show hateful, ungodly behavior.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

You’re appointed to carry two standards:

  • The first is the Almighty God’s standard.

  • The second is Entertainment’s standard.

Your job is twofold: look good AND act right: to become charismatic attractors– and modern-day ambassadors for Christ… which demands an unusual witness: one pleasing to Him AND media kings!

Consider this twelve-step acting program:

  1. Polish, invest, and increase God's talents.

  2. Prepare by becoming marketable.

  3. Uncover them and put them on display.

  4. Rise and shine on every stage and screen.

  5. Beat Satan in the fields he thinks he owns.

  6. Show applauding fans the Face of Jesus.

  7. It's kind, open, smiling and welcoming.

  8. Show brokenhearted fans a heart of love.

  9. It's not religious or nonjudgmental.

  10. Offer hungry fans Nourishment that lasts.

  11. It's the sweet fruit of the Holy Spirit.

  12. It's the Bread of Life and Living Water.

'Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world' (Philippians 2:14-15).

All Things: Require Good Actors (Part 21)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
