Homesick: For Fellowship
Where two or three are gathered in My Name, there am I among them.
Matthew 18:20 (ESV)
He called his twelve disciples together and began sending them out two by two.
Mark 6:7 (NLT)
Most of you know my daughter and partner, Glynis, is a New York photographer. Early in her career (in her 20’s), she had to go to Paris for a day to finish up a job for a client. (NOTE: It’s a l-o-n-g way for a one-day trip:)
When the shoot was done, she called me to say,
“I’m tired. I’m hungry, and feel so alone.”
I sympathized, prayed, and shared what I heard: a message we both believe came from God.
“Walk into the next restaurant you pass. You’ll see someone kind, who’s smiling at you. He was sent by God, Who’s reminding you: He’ll never leave you alone and hungry.” As I had spoken, God made it happen.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Neither will your Father abandon YOU in the “promise land” of Entertainment. If you get homesick for your small group friends, you’ll meet kind people, too, welcoming you– in every place your Director sends you! SO…
Make an action plan! Every saint on Earth needs community! If your current friends don’t get your mission, then find some new friends… walking the same path. That’s the plan Jesus put into practice for all of His earliest disciples.
Therein, homesickness is nipped in the bud!
Hard to read P.S. ‘No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God’ (Luke 9:62).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
