All Things: Are Taught By God
The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My Name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
John 14:26 (NIV)
A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher.
Luke 6:40 (ESV)
The time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 (ESV)
If all things are known by the Lord our God… then all things are taught by Christ, our Teacher– and when He left, through His Holy Spirit!
Each of our teaching plans is personal, 'For You, Yourself, have taught me' (Psalm 119:102). But let’s remember: God can teach us through people and in ways we might not expect:
A talking donkey,
A hand on a wall,
One or more angels,
Shepherds in a field,
Old men and women,
Small children and teens,
Reluctant prophets,
Common fishermen,
Simple laborers,
Refocused zealots,
Reformed Pharisees,
A still small Voice, an unschooled Carpenter, and a Spirit of Fire leading to peace.
From then till now, God continues to use transformed atheists, like C.S. Lewis, Derek Prince, Lee Strobel, and John Sanford. Even me: an unchurched former skeptic.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Carefully consider your church leaders. Do they reflect Jesus accurately? Or are they wolves disguised as “upscale” sheep?
Lesson #1: Don’t trust diplomas or religious boards in how YOU choose a God-inspired teacher.
Lesson #2: Look for gentleness and humility, evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit.**
Lesson #3: Do they practice what Jesus preached? Do we? This is how God divides sheep from the goats.
Bottom Line: God urgently and repeatedly warns about false prophets and bad teachers. How can you know them? Stay in the Bible!
Only when you learn the Word for yourself will you know you’re learning correctly.
All Things: Are Taught By God (Part 6)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
