Ambassadors For Christ: A Model's Basic Stance
Going a little farther He fell on His Face and prayed, saying, ‘My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.’
Matthew 26:39 (ESV)
Fashion models realize it’s their job… to know and show the Model’s Basic Stance. It presents their style most appealingly.
Models of faith realize it’s their job… to know and show utter humility. It presents God’s appeal in proper style.
Abram 'Fell on his face, and God talked with him' (Genesis 17:3).
'Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their faces' (Numbers 20:6).
'Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshipped' (Joshua 5:14).
'David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces' (1 Chronicles 21:16).
'When Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and supplication to the Lord, that he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to Heaven' (1 Kings 8:54).
'Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem bowed before the Lord, worshiping the Lord' (2 Chronicles 20:18).
Daniel 'Knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days' (Daniel 6:10).
In considering all these Bible stars (including Jesus!), Christians can see that the best position to speak or hear from the Almighty God… is NOT eye contact, as among equals. It's face down and hands spread in surrender and supplication.
A secondary posture is kneeling. But note… in both cases, the head is bowed. A praise position is with lifted hands: the hopeful reach of a child to a Dad.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ
DO know and show the model's basic stance for stage, film, shoots, campaigns, and interviews. It's professional and presents you well.
DO know and show the Christian's basic stance for passionate prayer and prevailing power. It’s spiritual and reaches God’s Ears.
P.S.
Contrary to some Christian opinions, it's not about your strength, but your weakness.
It doesn't advertise, 'Hey! Look at me!' Instead, it says (without words) 'Look at Him.'
If you pause and think, 'Look at Him' might be a three-word recap of your commission!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
