Ambassadors For Christ: The One Good Jealousy
You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very Name is Jealous, is a God Who is jealous about his relationship with you.
Exodus 34:14 (NLT)
The Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 4:24 (ESV)
I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one Husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:2 (ESV)
Why would our Father call Himself… Jealous? Why is He a jealous consuming Fire? Why is Paul’s own jealousy called “divine”?
Because God 'Desires ALL men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth' (1 Timothy 2:4).
Because when Christians trivialize God, His eminence is reduced in the eyes of all the people He hopes to save.
Because as an Ambassador for Christ, Paul (like Christ) desired all men to be saved, which depends on our loyalty to Christ!
To clarify the point:
Why would the lost follow a phony guide?
Why would prodigals come home to nothing?
Why would skeptics seek answers from a myth?
Why would the weak seek strength from a has-been?
Why are Christians so easily misled?
Because if we, as self-professed Christians…
Toss His Name around like non-believers or misrepresent His unfailing love… why would we expect men to respect Him?
Other trivializing assumptions?
His Name is not a book we have mastered. No one fully understands the Word.
His Name is not a degree we receive. No one earns a “PhD” in God.
His Name is not a means to greedy ends. No one seeks wealth and God at the same time.
His Name is not a snobby social club. No true Christian walks in pride or bias.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
The reason God is jealous for His Name, the reason God is jealous for your hearts… is to keep you, His children, close to Him, to beckon others who need to meet Him– and to prevent the devil’s devices from harming your glorious destinies.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
