The Day The World Changed Forever

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”

Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,

“Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”

Luke 2:8-14 (NLT)

December 25th is not about….

  • A jolly, red-suited man named Santa.

  • Winter vacations or time off of work.

  • How many presents we buy, give or get.

  • Parties, mistletoe, or gingerbread men.

  • Unspecified “Happy Holiday” cards.

It's not even about our families, by sharing gifts on one exhausting day.

Christmas is about God’s Son, Jesus Christ:
The One Who changed EVERYTHING, forever.
For Christians…

December 25th fills us with awe, good news, and utter appreciation.

  • It’s the day Light’s Source came into the world, and the door to eternity opened. Hope came to stay on the wings of a Dove, Who helped us grow up and taught us to fly.

  • It's the day we discovered a new Rock: a solid, immovable Foundation in a small Child, Who would soon say to us: 'Build here. It's free. You'll find room and a view.'

  • It's the day we learned how much we are worth– and what it cost the Lord to redeem us… as Christ redefined the meaning of love... He stumped scholars and terrified demons.

  • It's the day the True Son came out to shine, which turned Earth upside down and right side up. As the Child fell between a virgin’s knees… our Way to God’s Kingdom began to rise.

  • It's the day angels invited shepherds to see the Chosen One in a manger: utmost strength… in utmost humility. Nevertheless, they believed and worshipped!

The death sign Adam hung so long ago… would be lifted from the top of a Cross.

But

When young Jesus came, people were busy. They made no room for a sparkling new Life!

All believers know He’s coming back soon. We can’t know when, so let’s remain ready!

Let’s hold fast the Reason for this season… and save our best room (our heart) for Jesus.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
